CALL TODAY & FIND OUT WHY FAMILIES ARE CHOOSING PARKSIDE EARLY LEARNING CENTRE
KRISTEN
Director
I aim to always advocate for children and to give them a voice. I enjoy celebrating the wonder of learning and joy in ordinary moments with children and families.
I also value building meaningful relationships with all members of the community that are authentic, built on trust and supportive.
In my spare time I like to go on adventures with my husband, see live music and spend time with the cutest Beaglier dog in town.
One day I would like to write and illustrate a children’s storybook.
JESS
Assistant Director
I work in childcare because I love children. I love watching children; make discoveries, learn new things, and grow into their own little person.
I love working at Parkside because it is like a family, everyone looks out for each other. Parkside provides a variety of unique learning opportunities for the children.
In my personal time I love spending time with my family. Together, we love camping, going on spontaneous drives and spending time at the beach.
MELISSA
Educational Leader
I find it most rewarding being an active part of helping children learn and grow.
Outside of working at Parkside I love spending time with my son. We explore the Gympie surrounding regions and enjoy regular visits to speedway together.
In the future I would love to take my son to Disneyland.
HEIDI
Early Childhood Teacher (Kindergarten)
There are some many rewarding things about being a teacher. The first would be seeing children develop a love for learning. However, I love working with parents to see their children reach their potential.
Outside of work I love spending time with my amazing husband and our three beautiful girls. My goal is to be a great role model for my girls and for them to know I am here for them no matter what. In my profession life my goal is for every child I have ever taught to not only grow in their confidence and learn heaps of new skills but for every student to know that they are cared about and that I believe in them.
JUNITA
Lead Educator (Pre Kindy)
I chose a career in childcare as I believe each child is an individual and I love seeing their achievements big or small.
I love Parkside as it is a family owned centre with loving and caring educators.
When I’m not working I love to spend time with my family going to the beach, family barbeques and going to car related events.
JANE
Lead Educator (Junior Kindy)
Hearing comments from parents that their children are learning and bringing that learning home is my greatest joy. It is important to me to develop trusting relationships with the families attending and to create connections with the children.
In my free time I enjoy anything that involves my family.
NIKKI
Lead Educator (Toddler)
I chose to work in childcare because I have always loved being around children and making a difference in their lives. I love forming a connection with the families and being able witness the children’s development and learning first-hand as they grow and flourish. I love working at Parkside as the atmosphere is very supportive and family orientated.
One of my dreams would be to travel around Australia with my family
STACEY
Lead Educator (Nursery)
It is my best reward watching all my children develop into beautiful souls and be a part as they reach their milestones in their own times. I ensure to build a special friendship with every child.
Away from work I like to go camping and spend time with my beautiful family.
I aim to live a happy life with my husband and 2 beautiful children and one day to run my own childcare centre.

A big difference with Parkside Early Learning Centre is that the owners Andrew and Carolin Riley are actively involved in the running of the centre.
Andrew says “The best early learning Centres are the ones where the owners are heavily involved and present. We make ourselves available when we are onsite so our families and community can talk with us at any time. It also helps that both Carolin and I are early childhood educators too. We are so passionate about the importance of good quality early childhood education”
One thing you will find different about Parkside Early Learning Centre are that both of the owners, Carolin and Andrew Riley, are in fact qualified Early Childhood Educators. They are onsite every week and love interacting with the families and children.
I dreamt of working in childcare from the age of 15 years. At this age I did a practical placement in the local kindergarten and I remember vividly trying to use the limited sign language I had learnt talking to a 4 year old girl who was mute and had learning difficulties. I found this experience so rewarding that I wanted to work in an industry where you could make a difference in a person’s life. After working a long time in the corporate world I decided to finally do something about getting into the child care industry.
While travelling around Australia in a Caravan with our children Isabella and Felix we found a childcare centre for sale that was surrounded by parkland and my wife and I fell in love with it. We saw the potential in this centre that needed a bit of love and investment. It took 6 months for the sale to complete but in December 2015 we were the proud owners of the newly named Parkside Early Learning centre! Our next adventure was to begin…
The two things I have learned over the last few years are: You are never to old to start living your dream and never travel around Australia in a European caravan!
I have had childcare on my mind ever since I was born! My mother was an educator and even after my pre-school years I always went to visit her after school at her centre. I told everyone I wanted to be an educator like mum even though she encouraged me to chose my own career path! But it was meant to be…
After school I moved to England and worked as a nanny to 4 boisterous boys! Still, this confirmed my passion for the early years and I began my study to become a qualified educator. When I was a stay-at-home mum in New Zealand I volunteered at mainly music, a playgroup focused on music & movement. Through this I lead different groups of volunteers for 5 years, presented the music sessions and met many wonderful families.
When I returned back to the workforce my interest for having my own centre grew. I had so many ideas I wanted to realise and they are now coming to fruition at Parkside like our weekly music & movement sessions, Bushkindy and teaching second languages to young children. I still love working actively with the children and other educators. Early childhood education is constantly changing and you never stop learning and investigating together with the children.
